Although being voluntary, these drafts may also initiate some influence on the sector, first of all, for vehicle manufacturers:

  • It is advised to watch the future updates of Test methods for extreme environment adaptability of vehicles (20256221‑T‑339) which covers all road vehicle categories and introduces a comprehensive framework for low‑temperature, high‑temperature dry‑heat, high‑temperature humidity, and high‑altitude testing, and 20261033‑T‑339 on the braking system test as it is directly relevant to the type‑approval and periodic inspection of heavy‑duty commercial vehicles (categories M₂, M₃, N₂, N₃, O₃, O₄) by providing a standardized roller‑brake test method.

  • The three draft amendments to GB/T 18388‑2005, GB/T 19750‑2005, and GB/T 39132‑2020 are also of certain significance, as they align electric vehicle safety requirements with the mandatory GB 18384 and introduce a reliability running test with a 90 % DC‑fast‑charging mileage requirement, which may affect validation protocols for new energy models.

Meanwhile, component suppliers and relevant testing/service organizations are advised to be ware of the potential changes on product specifications and test equipment in Road vehicles - Spark-plugs - Test methods and requirements (20261149‑T‑339) and Test and evaluation method for thermal comfort of automotive air conditioning (20255270‑T‑339), particularly in areas such as sensor accuracy, manikin configuration, and test procedures etc.
