In March of 2026, as follow-up of the work assigned by the National Standardization Administration of China (SAC) and the projects approved in the national standardization notices, and in accordance with the stipulations of working process in relevant laws and regulations, the progress on several mandatory national standards is announced by corresponding authorities of China, and the basic key information are listed as below:

Mandatory standards pose significant impact on product compliance and market access, therefore foreign stakeholders are advised to check out the list and keep up with the progress of the items that are related to their business.
Another point worth noting for manufacturers of home appliances is that the several standard parts on interconnection and intercommunication of smart home are drafted by SAC/TC46, who’s in charge of home appliance standards. Whereas in the meantime, a standard series for is also available for interconnection and intercommunication of smart home, and they are under the management of SAC/TC28/SC25(Interconnection of Information Technology Equipment). One of the parts in this standard series is also on local area network access, namely GB/T 46456.3-2025 Interconnection of information technology equipment—Interconnection and intercommunication of smart home—Part 3: General requirements for local interconnection, and has come into force on February 1, 2026. The potential overlapping requires relevant stakeholders to be aware and provide feedback on the new projects if necessary.
