[Energy Efficiency] - JUL 28, 2021, National Standard on Lamp Energy Efficiency out for Public Comments
Uploading Date: 2021-08-17 17:42:30

On July 28, 2021, Branch of Resource and Environment of China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) called for comments on a Chinese national standard called Minimum Allowable Values of Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Grades for Fluorescent Lamps for General Lighting Service.

Developed by National Standardization Technical Committee on Energy Fundamentals and Management (SAC/TC 20), this new national standard specifies the energy efficiency grades, minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and the testing methods for general lighting lamps used in regular households and similar circumstances.

The New Standard has integrated specifications for all kinds of fluorescent lamps for general lighting services into one document. After its implementation, it will replace several existing national standards, as shown in the table:

Standard   Code

Standard   Name

GB 19044—2013

Minimum   allowable values of energy efficiency and the energy efficiency grades of   self-ballasted fluorescent lamps for general lighting service

GB 19043—2013

Minimum   allowable values of energy efficiency and the energy efficiency grades of   double-capped fluorescent lamps for general lighting service

GB 19415—2013

Minimum   allowable values of energy efficiency and evaluating values of energy   conservation for single-capped fluorescent lamps

GB 29144—2012

Minimum   allowable values of energy efficiency and the energy efficiency grades for   self-ballasted electrodeless fluorescent lamps with general lighting service

GB 29142—2012

Minimum   allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for   single-capped electrodeless fluorescent lamps

The New Standard has referred to relevant national standards (including GB/T 10682 and GB/T 17262 etc.) to supplement and revise the technical terms, definition, specification and requirements for fluorescent lamps.

The public opinion solicitation will end on October 1, 2021. The implementation date of the New Standard is yet to be announced. We suggest manufacturers or enterprises of fluorescent lamps follow closely on the updated news and the implementation date of this document. BESTAO will also keep tracking the latest news on the New Standard.
