On May 25, 2021, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the Guide to the Use of Radio Frequency in Industrial Internet and Internet of Things (2021 Edition).

The key messages are as follows:

• The document will guide industry users to choose appropriate radio communication technologies based on application scenarios, so as to improve adaptability of different application scenarios and frequency resource use, and the efficiency and benefits of frequency resource utilization. The regulation of frequency use and of radio stations setting will reduce harmful interference to radio stations, ensuring the safe and stable operation of relevant wireless communication systems and the safe production of industrial enterprises.
• The Industry users could use more flexible combinations of technologies including public mobile communication system, private mobile communication system, the LAN technology includes wireless access systems (WLANs) in 2400MHz, 5100MHz and 5800MHz frequency bands, and micro-power short-distance radio transmission equipment to achieve their differentiated needs in terms of sharing and private use, convenience and security, individuality and commonality, wide area and local area.
