On MAR 25, 2021, the fifth conference of the second term of the Technical Committee of electric car charging facilities in the energy industry was held in Suzhou.

The standardization work of the charging facilities for electric cars faces new opportunities, and the integrated development of power and automobile is an inevitable choice in the low-carbon context. The strategic position of the charging facilities for electric cars increasingly emerges, and the standards will become an important component of the low-carbon regulation system of the energy and power industry.

Mr. Liu Yongdong, the secretary general of the Technical Committee for Standardization and the director of the Standardization Management Center of China Electricity Council, made a working report. The report summarized the TC work in 2020, and presented the work plan in 2021. The secretariat of the Technical Committee conducted the standard system revision, the "14th Five Year standards Plan" and the planning item description. The committee members approved by voting the national standard Electric Vehicle Wireless Power Transfer System Part 6: Interoperability Requirements and Testing Ground Assembly Side.

 The working teams responsible for wireless charging, high-power charging, charging facility detection, information security, battery-swap facility standard, and charging facility standard for special vehicles, reported the standardization progress in relevant professional fields respectively.

 This annual conference  reviewed the following industrial standards:

·        Code for Design of Electric Vehicle Charging Station,

 National standards in the

·        Code for Design of Electric Vehicle Battery-swap Station,

·        Technical Guide for Electric Vehicle Charging/Battery-swap Infrastructure Construction,

·        Architecture and Use Case of the Electric Vehicle Battery-swap System,

·        Safety Requirements of Electric Vehicle Battery-swap Station,

·        Fault Classifications and Codes of Electric Vehicle Charging Facility,

·        Specification of Operation and Management for Electric Vehicle Charging/Battery-swap Infrastructure,

·        20kW and Below Off-board DC Charger Technical Conditions and Installation Requirements,

·        Parts 1-10 of the Charging and Battery-swap Service Data Interactive for Electric Vehicle of the China Electricity Council.

The Technical Committee was approved to establish by the National Energy Administration in 2010, and the secretariat was set in the Standardization Management Center of China Electricity Council.  The Technical Committee takes charge of the national and industrial standardization work in the charging facility fields. 

Since its establishment, the Technical Committee has aimed to establish the standard system for the charging facilities in China, accelerate the formulation of charging facility standards, promote the technical progress of the charging facilities, standardize the healthy development of the charging facility industry, and improve the international standardization of China.

So far, it has issued 72 standards for the charging facilities, including 31 national standards, 26 industrial standards, and 15 standards of the China Electricity Council; and it has 58 standards under revising, including 16 national standards, 21 industrial standards, and 21 standards of the China Electricity Council.
