On APR 19, China Electrical Vehicle Association (EV1CO) held a seminar for the charging technology and standard of the next generation of DC charging standard ChaoJi.
The perfection of the infrastructure facilities for charging and battery-swap is not only an important factor restricting the sustainable development of the new-energy automobile industry, but also a fundamental solution determining the user experience and the extent to which the endurance mileage anxiety can be alleviated. At present, the charging facilities are in a period of rapid technical development, and various new charging demands are increasingly urgent, e.g., high-power charging, low-power DC charging, battery-swap as well as interaction between electric car and power grid, etc.
§ Liu Yongdong, the director of the Standardization Management Center of China Electricity Council, made a report under the title of “ChaoJi Charging Technology and Standardization Progress of Next Generation of Electric Car”.
§ Ji Tiancheng, Chief of CHAdeMO Association, introduced the international development trend of high-power charging technology.
§ Liu Guibin, the chief engineer of China Automotive Technology & Research Center, introduced the construction progress of the standard vehicle-mounted charging system.
§ Dr. Chu Zhengyu from Tsinghua University made a report of the development and key problems of the super charging technology.
§ The conference discussed the development trend, charging pile industrial cooperation, stand system support and international development of the next generation of charging technology.
The Conclusions of this events are
§ Charging with high-capacity, rapidness, safety, and broad compatibility is an inevitable requirement for the integrated development of traffic and energy. The charging facilities are both the platform supplying energy to the electric cars, and the important constituent part of the smart grid. The selection of the technical routes of the charging facilities must meet and adapt to this basic requirement, and jointly serve the users.
§ The standard top design shall be achieved with problem-orientated and target-orientated. The standard system construction of the charging facilities has to be planned as a whole using a systematic concept, considering to resolve the current problems and taking into account of the future technical development.
§ International cooperation shall be enhanced to help ChaoJi develop wider and farther. The cooperative development of traffic and energy is the trend of the era, and China has to satisfy the development of the domestic market and pay attention to the international market. China has to form a broad consensus to continuously improve and upgrade the technical standards, attract more extensive parities to participate and continuously listen to the opinions of the parties to construct a high-quality standard charging system for ChaoJi based on the science and data.
China Electricity Council is a secretariat unit in the Technical Committee for Standardization of the electric car charging facilities in the energy industry and takes charge of the standardization work of the charging facilities for electric cars in China. It has led in the completion of the standard system for the interconnection and intercommunication, including conductive charging, wireless charging, battery-swap, charging services.
Since 2016, CEC has initiated the pre-research of high-power charging technology and standard, and with five years' efforts in the continuous development of extensive industrial investigation, industrial discussion, joint development, international cooperation, demonstration engineering, international standardization work, it has formed a set of an integrated solution of DC charging technology, which has independent intellectual property rights, takes into account of the past and faces the future and the world. Such solution is named as ChaoJi, meaning more safe, more compatible, and more international oriented.
