The launch conference of the Beijing International Big Data Exchange was held on 31 March 2021 in Beijing. The Data Exchange is organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economics and Information Technology, Beijing Local Financial Supervision and Administration Bureau, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Beijing Municipal Commission of Cyberspace Affairs and other departments. On the same day, the Beijing data trading system went online. According to reports, the Beijing Data Exchange is based on the new trading paradigm of “data is available but not visible, and its use is controllable and measurable”. It is positioned to build a leading domestic data transaction infrastructure and an internationally important data cross-border circulation hub.
