The Administrative Measures for Pollution Control of Electronic Information Products, also known as "China RoHS", came into effect on 1 March 2007. The Measures restrict the harmful substances in electronic information products put on the Chinese market, specifically: lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated diphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).


GB/T 26572-2011 Requirements of Concentration for Limits for Certain Restricted Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products, issued in 2011, is the main requirement of China RoHS.

SJ / T 11364-2014 Requirements for Labeling of Hazardous Substances in Electronic and Electrical Products, is one of the most important supporting standards of China's RoHS. Formally implemented since 1 January 2015, the standard stipulates the corresponding marks of products that meet the requirements of China's RoHS.


On 6 January 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology promulgated the Management Measures for the Restricted Use of Harmful Substances of Electrical and Electronic Products (No. 32) jointly with 8 departments – including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Customs P.R.CHINA and AQSIQ. The Measures, also known as “China RoHS II”, were officially implemented on 1 July 2016.

China RoHS II stipulate the following limit requirements: lead ≤ 1000ppm, cadmium ≤ 100ppm, mercury ≤ 1000ppm, hexavalent chromium ≤ 1000ppm, polybrominated diphenyl ether ≤ 1000ppm.
