GB 24155-2020 Safety requirements for electric motorcycles and electric mopeds (referred to as new standards) has been put into effect and taken the place of the old standards GB 24155-2009.

• The type test basis standard and test item basis standard are modified, adds GB 24155-2020, deleted GB 16735-2004, GB 16737-2004, GB 15742-2001;

• Starting from January 1, 2021, newly-applied models for certification shall adopt the GB 24155-2020 standard for certification and the certificate issued shall be in accordance with the new standards.

• For products that have obtained compulsory certification certificate of the old standards, the holder of the certificate should submit the application for certificate conversion, taking the supplementary test from January 1, 2021, before the end of the first follow-up inspection after the implementation of the new standard; certificate that fails to complete the conversion after the expiry date could be suspeneded. If the certificate conversion is not completed within 3 months of the suspension period, the certificate will be revoked.

• For certified products that have been delivered, put on the market and are no longer produced before the implementation date of the relevant standards, certificate conversion is not required.
