



On June 25, 2024, the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) issued a notice approving 32 projects for the formulation or revision of national mandatory standards, along with 10 projects for translating national mandatory standards into official English versions. The projects outlined in the notice span various sectors, with several directly concerning the automotive industry. Basic details are provided below:

Among this batch of standard projects, four of them has been approved with official English version in progress (the items marked with “*”), and the Energy consumption limits for electric vehicles—Part 1: Passenger car has already issued draft for public comment. Another aspect for foreign stakeholders or MNCs to consider is that none of the aforementioned standard projects have incorporated any international standards, potentially amplifying their compliance challenges.
