



On June 4, 2024, the Sub-technical Committee on Electric Vehicles of the Road Vehicle Technical Committees (SAC/TC114/SC27) issued a notice announcing that a series of events are under organization to engage industry participants in the standardization efforts for battery recovery in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Working Group on Recovery of Traction Batteries Used in Electric Vehicles (hereinafter referred to as “the Working Group”). The activities aim to foster discussion, learning, and recognition within the field. Most importantly, it plans to expand of the Working Group Membership
To align with the national policy document named Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Establishment and Improvement of a Green, Low-Carbon and Circular Development Economic System, the Working Group seeks to broaden its membership to include all relevant stakeholders in the new energy vehicle traction battery recovery sector. An invitation has been issued for new members to join.
The qualifications required for membership applications are as follows:
- Experienced in the field of traction battery recovery technology or related standardization efforts.
- Strong theoretical and practical expertise.
- Knowledgeable in standardization practices.
- Holding a senior professional title or higher.
- Willingness to actively engage in the Working Group’s activities and fulfill the responsibilities and duties of a member.
This expansion aims to strengthen the group’s capabilities and contributions to the development of sustainable and circular economy standards within the electric vehicle battery recovery industry. The entities that intends to join the WG can submit their applications to the Working Group email before July 30, 2024.
