Uploading Date: 2023-10-16 17:37:45

In August, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) updated the list of standards for green factory evaluation. In comparison to its September 2022 edition, the new list incorporates 41 new standards, bringing the total number of standards for green factory evaluation to 82. As a result, the green factory evaluation system now covers more factories across a broader range of industries.

Participating in green factory evaluation can bring several benefits to businesses, including:

1.        Enhancing the image, reputation, and influence of the company as a green demonstration enterprise.

2.        Elevating the company's management capabilities in green manufacturing and achieving sustainability.

3.        Being recognized as a national green factory and obtaining a green factory license, which can act as an environmental protection umbrella, providing benefits such as exemption from environmental inspections, unrestricted production, and electricity use.

4.        Serving as the foundation for the company's green integrated transformation and upgrade, leading to greater long-term benefits.

5.        Accessing corresponding policy support at the national, provincial, municipal, and district levels, with potential rewards that can amount to millions of Chinese yuan for the company.

The new list of green factory evaluation standards can be accessed via the following link: https://www.miit.gov.cn/jgsj/jns/lszz/art/2023/art_b4a47c49182142c0ac925ae024f664c9.html

The MIIT-led green factory evaluation is open to manufacturing factories who have registered within China and engaged in actual production processes such as processing, manufacturing, and assembly. Overseas companies with investments in production within China are encouraged to actively apply for participation in the green factory evaluation.
