The first annual meeting of the Automotive Lighting Standards Research Working Group for 2023 was held in Xiamen on April 17, 2023. The aim of this meeting was to continue research efforts in automotive lighting standards and to promote the development and improvement of complementary standards associated with mandatory national standards for automotive lighting.

The meeting introduced draft supporting documents for the implementation of three standards: GB "Automobile Road Lighting Devices and Systems", GB "Automobile and Trailer Light Signaling Devices and Systems", and GB "Reflective Devices for Motor Vehicles".

Following this, the meeting presented the framework content of the proposed recommendatory standard "Symbols for Projection of External Lighting and Light Signaling Devices for Automobiles". An automotive intelligent lighting survey was also released, aiming to comprehensively understand enterprises' cognition, willingness, requirements for assembly, and demands for lighting projection of intelligent lighting devices. This will ensure that the future direction of standard formulation aligns with the future product planning of whole vehicle production enterprises and component enterprises.

Finally, the meeting introduced the draft of GB/T "Performance Evaluation and Whole Vehicle Testing Method for Automotive Headlamps". Based on past issues of single evaluation indicators and significant environmental impact on test results in lighting standards, this method, after two years of research, serves as a supplement to current standards. It holds great significance in enhancing driving safety and promoting the development of the automotive lighting industry.
