Energy Label Rules Revised for Air-con and Electric Fans-OCT, 2022

On October 17, 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued a notice on the enactment of the revised implementation rules for the energy label markings of two products: multi-connected air-condition (heat pump) units and electric fans (hereinafter referred to as “the Implementation Rules”). The revised implementation rules will come into effect on November 1, 2022.

 

The revised Implementation Rules on Energy Efficiency Labelling for Multi-connected Air-condition (heat pump) Units and Implementation Rules on Energy Efficiency Labelling for Electric Fan will be valid for 5 years. Relevant products that are newly produced/sold after the implementation date shall follow the rules. An interim period will be given to imported products that are imported or finish manufacturing before November 1, 2022: such product can conform to implementation requirements after November 1, 2024.

Applicable to multi-connected   air-condition (heat pump) units with air-cooled or water-cooled condenser,   and low ambient temperature air source multi-connected heat pump(air-conditioning)units

Electric fans

-Applicable to table fans, rotary fans,   wall fans, table-floor fans, and floor fans that have a single-phase rated   voltage of no more than 250 V, other rated voltage of no more than 480 V and   are driven by AC or DC motor.

- Does not apply to mini fans that use   batteries.

- Specifications required for the fan   blade diameter are within the range of 200-600 mm for table fans, rotary   fans, wall fans, table-floor fans, and floor fans.

- Fan blade diameter specifications for   ceiling fans is also within the range of 900-1800 mm.
