MEE is calling for comment on national ecological standard 'Requirements of radiation safety and protection for diagnostic radiology' until 31 Jul 2022. Draft for comment specifies

    • applies to radiation safety and protection requirements for diagnostic radiological activities using X-rays in medical institutions, including X-ray imaging activities in

    • develop a radiation safety and protection system

    • implement job responsibilities and operational standards

  • site selection, zoning and layout

    • each stationary diagnostic X-ray unit shall be equipped with its own separate examination room

    • where multiple units are in the same room, only one unit may be used at a time

    • diagnostic radiology workplaces shall be divided into control and supervision areas and managed accordingly in line with the requirements of 'Basic standards for ionising radiation protection and the safety of radiation sources (GB 18871-2002)'

    • medical institutions engaged in diagnostic radiology activities shall coordinate the construction of workplaces for diagnostic X-ray equipment
