



On July 12, 2022, National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Ministry of Transport (MoT) jointly issued National Road Network Plan, in which it specified following key information:
main objectives by 2035
building a widely covered, efficient, green, smart and safe national road network and achieving a high level of inter-provincial connectedness
fully connecting prefecture-level cities and key inland border ports
connecting Asian road network and global economic cooperation corridors
avoiding ecological protection and environmentally sensitive areas
digitising operational management and transport scenarios
improving road network's reliability and emergency handling capacity
plan implementation
near-term construction key tasks
achieving full connectivity of main routes of '71118' national highway
prioritising the construction of roads connecting to G219 and G331 lines
increasing the proportion of roads of second-level and above to 70 percent in the western region
implementation requirements
improving construction and resource utilisation efficiency
protecting arable land and permanent farmland
reducing energy consumption and carbon emission
integrating road construction for the development of related industries, including
tourism
manufacturing
logistics
e-commerce
tightening risk supervision of local debt conditions
environmental impact and solutions
