China Compulsory Certification, commonly known as CCC, is a mandatory certification in China which applies to imported goods as well as to Chinese products. It is similar to product quality standardization certifications, for example. the European CE system. The CCC certificate was firstly implemented in 2002. Products in the CCC category must obtain this mandatory certification before selling to the China market.
For exporters to the China market, failure to comply with CCC regulations will lead to imported goods being detained at the border or returned to the sender. Likewise, improper use of CCC licenses or printing a CCC mark on products without certification will also result in fines and penalties. So it is very important that global stakeholders understand the compliance requirements on CCC for their products.
In 2020, State Administration for Market Regulations (SAMR) and General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) jointly issued an official document to match the HS code with CCC product catalogue (as of May of 2020). BESTAO has translated the complete document with 10048 English words and 44 pages.
