On April 11, 2022, China’s new standard the Technical Guidelines for Children Cosmetics has entered the phase of comment collection. The standard aims to support the implementation of children’s cosmetics in China, including the Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics, Measures for the Administration of Registration and Filing of Cosmetics, Provisions on the Supervision and Administration of Children's cosmetics, amongst others.

The draft standard not only presents horizonal requirements for children cosmetics, such as their development principle, rules for classification and registration, etc., but also lists specific requirements on product’s names and explanatory materials, formulas and raw materials, standards implemented, labels, tests and inspections, and safety assessments. It also identifies 26 allergenic ingredients to be restricted from children cosmetics.
