On April 19, 2022, the National Railway Administration (NRA) issued the standard: TB 10029-2022 Code for design of railway passenger car facilities. The standard will come into effect on August 1, 2022 and replace its previous edition from 2009. 

This standard was revised by summarizing the experience that China obtained from the engineering, operation, and maintenance of railway passenger car facilities. It integrated usage and repair technologies with the achievements in optimization of both the repair classes and systems of railway passenger cars (including the 160 km/h power concentrated EMUs).
