



On February 24, 2022, the China Communication Standards Association (CCSA) released a draft for approval of the Identification and Resolution System for the Industrial Internet – Food – Identification Coding Specification(hereinafter referred to as “the Standard”). Further development of the Standard is still under internal discussion. It’s currently calling for association comments from February 24th to March 17th of 2022.
Main Contents of the Standard
The complete contents of this latest draft for approval haven’t been released. However, the first draft of the Standard was completed in November of 2020 and called for comments within the sector at that time. Based on the 2020 draft , this document consists of 6 chapters including: i) scope; ii) normative references; iii) terms and definition; iv) coding composition; v) coding prefix; 6) coding suffix.
The Standard is applied to three food categories defined in GB/T 4754-2017 Industrial classification for national economic activities (UNSD: 2006, International standard industrial classification of all economic activities, NEQ): C13 Processing of Food from Agricultural Products, C14 food manufacturingand C15 wine, drink and refined tea manufacturing industry
