On December 14, 2021, Ministry of Transport (MoT) issued Report on sustainable transport in China (hereinafter referred to as “the Report”).  

The report was released in both Chinese and English version. It states:

• -Coordinated and integrated transport development, by end 2020
• *rail in operation: 146,000 kilometres,  of which high-speed lines represents 38,000 kilometres
• *highways: 5.2 million kilometres, of which expressways represented 161,000 kilometres
• *22,000 operative berths and 128,000 kilometres of navigable inland waterways
• *241 certified civil airports
• *349,000 postal outlets
• -Innovation-driven development
• -Promoted green and low-carbon transport
• *in 2020, the carbon dioxide emission intensity of the industry dropped by 7.5 percent compared with that in 2015
• -Strengthened opening up and cooperation on transport
• *transport connectivity via Belt and Road Initiative
• *smoothed international logistics and supply chains
• -Distributed benefits of transport improvements to all
• -Promoted safe transport that puts lives first
