On November 15, 2021, an official platform called the “Information Platform on Conformity Assessment Service for Go-Global Enterprises” (hereinafter referred to as “the Platform”) released a notice that called for enterprise participation on submitting information with regard to exporting to the US. The main topic covers issues and difficulties during the conformity assessment, as well as suggestions or advice.
In the notice, the Platform set a submission time frame (November 15 to November 30, 2021), and established an official channel (WeChat account online).
The objective of this information collection is to accumulate a series of tangible issues to be discussed between the Certification and Accreditation Administration of P.R.C (CNCA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The CNCA intends to analyze and streamline some of the common issues based on the submitted information for this exchange that will take place in December of 2021.
Following the presidential meeting between the US and China, more communication seems to be happening between the two big markets. This could be a positive sign for import/export enterprises. Meanwhile, the possible progress on solving conformity assessment issues could benefit all enterprises who produce and export from China to the US.
Likewise, the ANSI may also discuss similar topics with the CNCA regarding export issues. BESTAO suggests that American enterprises who have export businesses to Chinese markets, especially the ones with conformity assessment issues or suggestions, try to approach the ANSI or relevant administrations to provide feedback. This may benefit the bilateral trade for both countries in the long run.
BESTAO will follow up on further news of the high-level discussion between the CNCA and the ANSI.
