The Standard was developed in accordance with the Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR). It stipulates a testing method for assessing anti-dandruff efficacy in cosmetic products, and both follows the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki (as it’s a testing on human body), and the basic safety requirements from CSAR in terms of microbiological index, hazardous substance limit, and physical and chemical index test.
The Standard also specifies reagents, materials, devices required, testing methods and requirements on testing subject (including environmental conditions, number of people to be tested, qualification and exclusion of testing subjects etc.), testing procedure and items, data analysis, result determination and testing report. Two annexes are also attached in the document to provide further additional news to support testing.
The exact implementation date of this association standard has not yet been announced, but foreign stakeholders can use it as a reference to understand regional testing criteria for anti-dandruff cosmetics products.
