On November 16, 2021, BESTAO team visited China Association for Machinery Standardization (CAMS) to catch up on the latest standardization work in the machinery sector in China. The topics discussed included CAMS’s recent standardization work, the new developments of machinery technology and equipment, and most importantly, CAMS’s and the machinery sector’s understanding of and implementation plan for the newly issued macro standardization policy: National Standardization Development Outlines (hereinafter referred to as “the Outlines”). The discussion is part of the regular exchanges between BESTAO and the organization.
CAMS is an influential industrial association focusing on machinery standardization. It has more than 500 company and individual members from the machinery industry, research institutes, and academies. CAMS works closely with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), providing them with policy suggestions and technical support. CAMS is also an active player in association standardization and has so far released dozens of association standards for advanced mechanical equipment.
China is now actively promoting the industry’s intelligent transformation and calling for more contributions from industrial associations. To achieve such transformation, the future development of the standardization system in China is very likely to enable influential industrial organizations (such as CAMS) to play a greater role in developing advanced standards.
Every quarter or half year, BESTAO pays regular visits to organizations related to China product compliance and market access, along with those who are closely connected to our clients.
